Keynote - Dr. Tamara D. Herold
This keynote explores the essential role analysts play in building the next generation of policing. If we want policing to be evidence-based, problem-oriented, intelligence-led, and crisis-resilient, then analysts must have a seat at the strategy table. Analysts, as we know (but too often fail to see), can provide the strategic leadership needed to break the harmful, recurring patterns that put officers and communities at risk. They are the catalysts for EPIC policing, a practical framework for the future of public safety. Through case studies, we will see how innovative analysis transforms the way agencies understand problems, select responses, and measure success. We will also trace the EPIC professional trajectories of those who dared to ask sharper questions, test long-held assumptions, and turn information into insight that inspires action.
