About

The International Association of Crime Analysts was formed in 1990 to help crime analysts around the world improve their skills and make valuable contacts, to help law enforcement agencies make the best use of crime analysis, and to advocate for standards of performance and technique within the profession itself. We accomplish these goals through training, networking, and publications.

Our Mission

The IACA is a nonprofit, volunteer-run, professional association dedicated to advancing the practice of crime and intelligence analysis through training, networking, certification, and professional opportunities around the world.

Certification Programs

Certified Law Enforcement Analyst (CLEA)

A certification for experienced analysts validating knowledge, skills and professional competence through experience, education, professional contributions, and a rigorous exam.

Law Enforcement Analyst-Foundational (LEAF)

An entry-level certification designed for new analysts and students entering the profession.  

Both exams are offered in English and Spanish and are recognized internationally.
