Starting a Regional Crime Analysis Association

  • WhenOctober 27th, 2022 @ 1230 ET
  • How much? FREE for all attendees!
  • Register here!

We all know that the IACA is a great association, but being an international one, we can't get together that often. There are also laws, tools, technologies, procedures, and crime trends specific to your local area. These are just some of the reasons that membership in a good local crime analysis association is just as important as membership in the IACA.

Unfortunately, large parts of the United States and large parts of the world are covered by no existing regional crime analysis association or network. If you've often thought that your state, region, or country could use a local association but you've never known where to start, this webinar is for you. We will discuss the benefits of starting a regional association, the steps you must take to get it organized, and what the IACA is prepared to do to help you. You'll hear some recent examples from successful associations, and a panel of experts will be on hand to answer your questions about things like taxes, bylaws, meetings, conferences, and organizational membership in the IACA.

Speakers:

  • Christopher Bruce, IACA Recruitment and Retention Manager, former president of the Massachusetts Association of Crime Analysts (MACA)
  • Erin Wickersham, head of the IACA's regional associations committee
  • Alex Scheider, president of the Texas Law Enforcement Analysts Network (TxLEAN)
  • Joe Ryan, president of the Northwest Regional Crime Analysis Network (NORCAN)

Registration will occur directly through GoToWebinar (you must use the registration link above). You will receive a registration confirmation from GoToWebinar directly upon registering.
