Achieving the visualization of a hot spot is only the beginning. The next step is the interpretation of the resulting raster files. Volume of activity is only one factor to consider. There is much more to analyze within the center of a hot spot. This session will focus on creating, validating, and interpreting resulting hotspot raster files.

Learning Objectives: By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

1. Review the basics of hot spot purpose and practice.
2. Determine appropriate settings within the kernel density tool and the spatial analyst toolbox
3. Create hot spot maps that offer actionable information.
