2013 Chilean Symposium in Santiago, Chile

The Policía de Investigaciones de Chile (PDI), in conjunction with the Fundación Paz Ciudadana and the International Association of Crime Analysts (IACA) held the IV International Conference on Crime Analysis and Criminal Prosecution at the Police Research School in Santiago, Chile. Senior officials and opinion leaders in the fields of public safety and justice attended the conference. The IACA was represented by President Susan Smith, Treasurer Tamara Otley, and International Outreach Chair John Chapman. The event was opened with IACA President Susan Smith delivering a keynote speech on the Role of Crime Analysis in Criminal Prosecution.

The closing of this conference was marked by the words of the Director General of the PDI, Marcos Vasquez, who said "...police officers from different countries, including representatives from organizations related to security and justice sector and our law enforcement and public safety have shared and exchanged experiences, internalizing knowledge and new tools for crime analysis". This workshop, Vasquez said, "contributes to the technical strengthening of public security policies and the system of criminal prosecution."
