I have found that for $20, you can upgrade the Google Maps so that it will be helpful in crime mapping. I don't have crime analysis software and this inexpensive upgrade helps me lable addresses that have been sites of crimes. It can measure distances, etc. It is not high tech, but if you are on a budget like me, it is a great tool.

Just type in Google Earth in the Google search engine and you will find the home page for it.
